This year we are kicking off our end-of-year fundraising season by participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Giving Tuesday 2017, a positive, proactive counterpoint to the consumerist frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is Tuesday, November 28th. To become a CMC member, renew your membership, or make a special #GivingTuesday donation, simply click on the Donate Now button in the upper righthand corner of our homepage above, or click here: https://www.civicmediacenter.org/membership

In this new era of progressive resistance to the Trump regime and the global wave of reactionary politics of which Trumpism is but one manifestation, the Civic Media Center is more crucial to local and regional grassroots organizing than ever. From Gainesville City of Resistance, to the No Sabal Trail Pipeline campaign, to the No Nazis at UF protest and the Say Yes to 2nd Chances campaign, this year the CMC has provided space and resources to organizers working on an array of local and regional efforts to resist corporate oligarchy, creeping fascism, and environmental destruction, and to lift up and rebuild struggling communities.

Women's March Gainesville, UF Dream Defenders, Fight Toxic Prisons, Socialist Alternative, National Women's Liberation, the Gainesville Anti-Fascist Committee, and Gainesville Industrial Workers of the World are just a few of the many local organizations who have held meetings, teach-ins, benefits, video screenings, workshops, talks, and discussions at the Center as part of the ongoing people's fightback against Trumpism and all that comes with it.

The CMC continues to support and collaborate with local independent media such as the Gainesville Iguana and The Fine Print, as well as local cultural, political, and academic institutions such as our neighbors at Wild Iris Books and MAMA's Club, UF's Women's Studies and Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, and the Matheson Museum, among others.

All of this activity has given the Center an important boost in visibility and support. We had our most successful anniversary fundraiser ever in October. Please help us close out this incredible year of people-powered action and launch the CMC into 2018 by making a donation today.

If you are not already a member, please join us and become one of our hundreds of dues-paying supporters whose annual, renewable membership donations provide the bedrock of our financial support. If you are already a member, please renew your membership or consider making a special #GivingTuesday donation to help boost the CMC's capacity to keep helping the movement make Gainesville, and our world, a better place for everyone.

If you wish to further boost our efforts to support grassroots organizing and political education, consider increasing your annual commitment and spreading your giving out over the course of the year by becoming a Friend of the Civic Media Center and giving a monthly or quarterly amount of your choice. Our Friends help us by providing a regular, reliable source of income that we can count on, even through the lean summer months here in Gainesville.

If you wish to give online, you can become a member, renew your membership, or make a one-time special donation here: https://www.civicmediacenter.org/membership.

If you prefer to make your contribution in person, come see us on #GivingTuesday or anytime we're open, Monday-Saturday, 2-6pm, or come to one of our upcoming events. We would especially love to see all of our members, supporters, and new friends at our Holiday Brunch, Sunday, December 10th from 11a.m.-2p.m., here at the CMC. Come out and meet our new coordinators and board members, and mingle with other activists, organizers, and like-minded folks of all progressive persuasions. For all of these events from now through the end of the year, we'll have our miniature chalkboard on hand so you can take a Giving Tuesday #UnSelfie with a personal message about why you support the CMC, which we will then share on social media to help add visibility to our campaign.

Thank you for supporting the Civic Media Center, and for all that you do support, agitate, and work for peace, justice, and equality for all. To learn more about #GivingTuesday, please visit their website at www.givingtuesday.org.
